Cambodia's first LNG-to-power plant — 900 MW of clean, reliable energy.
Botum Sakor Energy Co., Ltd. (BSE), a wholly owned subsidiary of Royal Group of Cambodia, was established in 2020 to invest in and develop the 900 MW natural gas-fired power project (the "Project").
The Project is Cambodia's first LNG-to-power plant and comprises 2×450 MW M701F4 generating units. Supporting facilities include a dedicated jetty (including a dedicated navigation channel with a water depth of 14.1 m), an LNG receiving terminal with a 200,000 m³ LNG storage tank.
As Cambodia's first LNG-fired power generation project, the Project will fill a gap in the country's clean LNG-based power generation sector. Once operational, it is expected to account for approximately 18% of Cambodia's installed power capacity and about 26% of the country's electricity generation.
